Mild Matters

Hearing aids can help babies with moderate or greater degrees of hearing loss, but we do not know whether they help babies with mild hearing loss. Research is needed to guide clinical management.

This project aims to investigate the feasibility of conducting a randomised controlled trial of hearing device fitting to compare the outcomes of children who are provided with early fitting of hearing devices to those who are not provided with hearing devices. The findings will have implications for research into the efficacy of early hearing aid fitting for infants with mild bilateral hearing loss.
