Your opportunity
As a Research Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow, you will be a key member of the Communication Sciences department and acting as a project lead on research projects in the projects using fNIRS and/or EEG. Key responsibilities include the following:
- – Lead and participate in initiating, designing, planning and executing research projects in neuroimaging, mainly fNIRS and EEG, in accordance with NAL project procedures
- – Analyse and interpret neuroimaging data, and support other staff in data analysis and interpretation, as opportunities arise
- – Manage research documentation and procedures, including development of research protocols and writing final reports
- – Disseminate research findings through high-quality publication in international peer-reviewed journals and trade journals, and presentations at relevant conferences
- – Identify potential sources of external funding, develop funding applications as the lead applicant, and contribute to funding applications led by others
- – Collaborate and interact with NAL staff across all departments
- – Develop and maintain research collaborations with external organisations
- – Understand and adhere to compliance obligations relevant to your role
What you’ll bring:
- PhD in relevant scientific discipline within or related to audiological or hearing research
- Considerable experience applying signal processing techniques to neuro-imaging data from hearing-experiments, and/or evaluating the impact of hearing loss and intervention on multiple outcome domains in children
- – Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications with neuroimaging data
- – Proven track record of independent or collaborative research
- – Significant knowledge in the use and analysis of neuroimaging data, specifically fNIRS
- – Proficient at coding using matlab, R or Python with and without existing toolboxes
- – Proficient at statistical analysis
- – Proficient in data management and manipulation
- – Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders and collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams
